Website Maintenance Terms of Service
Last update: 27 July 2020
If you have accepted a proposal from us (Proposal) or have otherwise engaged us to undertake the management or maintenance of a website for you (Website Maintenance Services) the following terms will apply.
The Website Maintenance Services will apply to the website identified in the Proposal (Your Website).
The total fee and method of payment for the Website Maintenance Services is contained in the Proposal.
By accepting, or continuing to accept, Website Maintenance Services from us in accordance with the Proposal, or otherwise, you agree, without limitation or qualification, to be bound by and to comply with these terms.
Understanding Your Website
Your Website is built on the WordPress platform and extra functionality, security and graphical interface has been added to the website through the installation of third-party plugins or themes.
A theme is a collection of files that work together to produce a graphical interface for a website with an underlying unifying design, these files are called template files. A theme modifies the way the site is displayed, without modifying the underlying software.
A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website and are used to extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress website.
We will install and maintain the necessary plugins to enable us to provide the Website Maintenance Services.

Website Maintenance Services include updating WordPress for minor and major releases, updating plugins and updating themes.
When providing Website Maintenance Services, we will always follow best practices.
The Website Maintenance Services we will provide include:

Disclaimer
As we are not the authors of the plugins and/or themes which may be installed on Your Website, we can’t guarantee they will be bug-free or function as described by the author. If issues arise due to a plugin or theme update, we will roll back the update or contact the author on your behalf if you engage us to do so.
Updates will only be run for themes and plugins which we have installed on Your Website with automatic updates enabled. Any themes or plugins which you have installed yourself and which require manual updates or have had their version number modified or which require a paid licence update, will not be managed unless you engage us to do so.

If we provide access to the website for you or a consultant acting for you to work on the site and any problems arise with the website following access being granted, remedial work will be charged at our hourly rate of $180.
